The weather outside is kind of gloomy so we headed for the great indoors today and drug Katie along with us. We worked hard in pilates so we could feel good sitting in a movie for a couple of hours, eating out, and splurging at the bakery. We probably should have spent a few more hours in plank position to justify that much gluttony. I did embrace the new year by trying new foods - muscles at McCormick and Shmicks and tasting the flour wonders at the much raved about but never previously visited, Beaverton Bakery.
With two great families to hang out with in Utah, it was really hard to abandon vacation. We had such a wonderful time with such fantastic people. Being back home is not without its charms, we do have a pretty good life, but we still sigh when we have to make our own breakfast.
I'm pretty sure my sister Megan spent more time dressing up for skiing than she actually spent on the slope. We had such a fun day riding snowmobiles and skiing. I might have set a record for getting stuck on the snowmobile (and running into trees - pictures pending) but I outlasted all the girls on the slopes.
