Lisa Gets Married and Lucy Takes on the Stairs

This weekend I went to a beautiful wedding in Idaho for my dearest friend, Lisa. Every last detail was perfect, including a beautiful bride marrying a really great guy.
And while I was gone, Lucy seems to have decided that crawling was no longer enough. Now the stairs must be conquered.

Her dad might have had something to do with the new ambitious goal. He loves to expose Lucy to new things. The first thing he told me when I came back was that Lucy does not like Habanero Sausages. Good to know!

Lucy's Seven Month World

Lucy is seven months old this week. Seven months! This is a short snapshot of what her mornings look like post bottle, book attempt, and a batch of kisses. Playing on her own is a new thing, enabled by her ability to get what she wants on her own. Crawling suits this girl - It seems that it has brightened her already pretty cheery spirits.

Lucy Meets her Great Grandma Artman

Lucy is one lucky girl. In her little life she has gotten to know and been surrounded by many of the phenomenal women that make up who she is. This week she was able to meet Mike's mom's mom. They were so lovely together.

OMSI

We went to the OMSI this week and I decided that her face is just cute enough to pull off these cheesy stands. I'm thinking that a tradition has started...
This face is from the cranberry farm in Long Beach.

In a week's time

This week Lucy went from awkward to awesome, from stumbling to sailing with that little crawl of hers.

Sunday Shoot

Why is her favorite toy always something a little grimy? Please note the cute pink ball option to her left. Stick or ball...?

The Favorite Chew Toy

I spend a good portion of my day (and let's be honest - this blog) musing on how fabulous and obviously brilliant little Lucy is. Then every once in a while I have to wonder about the girl - like when she uses a pacifier in every which way, except the intended one. She really has yet to figure out the nature of sucking a pacifier. A creative soul? A rebellious spirit? An unconventional thinker?
