Backpacking
For anyone who knows me very well, you may be wondering if all these camping posts are just a facade of stolen pictures off the internet. I have always found that the charms of nature were an illusive gift that I was unable to unwrap and enjoy. Before my mission I wouldn't sit on the grass under any circumstance because of the potential bugs lying in wait. My mission in Brazil did help me conquer some of those limits but my appreciation still has its boundries. That said, I happen to love this great man who loves nature. So, off we went, into the wilderness of Oregon. It was a rough start but ended up being a really fun adventure. Mike's friends from Utah came and joined us and it was so fun laughing around the campfire each night and complaining about our backs and shoulders.
This picture was at the campsite. We were lucky enough to camp by a lake every night which was so delightful.
Some of the guys hauled Dr. Pepper in their bags! Not to mention pancake mix and all sorts of delicious food. We really did eat well.
There was a lot of map time involved with this trip. We were so isolated we only passed one pair on the trail.

A little healthy competition
In the spirit of pushing our skills and seeing ordinary (and sometimes extraordinary) things in a new way, Mike and I like to take pictures of the same object and decide whose is better. Usually the winner is obvious but after today's trip to the coast we couldn't decide whose sandal picture was better. Better can been bolder, cleaner, more artsy, more fun, more serious - you decide. If you are brave enough to pick a side, let us know which you like the most.
