Life

It is funny how life works. Once you are able to reach into the second drawer from the floor you are then pushing yourself to reach the third. I am finding this little gal on her tiptoes a lot these days. Her curiosity seems insatiable at times.

One Year Check Up

I just couldn't bear to leave that last post as the first thing one sees when they open the blog. Lucy had her one year check up (yes, two months late, blame the mom). Ironically it was one day before she got sick, could have used some help there, but alas. Yet in the end, I really didn't need a doctor to tell me how perfectly she is growing and becoming...
She can write her own name after all...
And totally pull off a daddy designed 70s get up...
And she has tackled the fine art of keeping a clip in her hair (our record is fifteen adorable minutes)
And she is a champion sportsman already, other hide-and-go-seekers don't stand a chance...
So dear doctor, while I love you for telling me she is indeed healthy and growing, I was already on to it!

Lucy was sick. Then Mike was sick. Then Lucy was sicker. Then Jen was sick. And I couldn't find one picture without snot on a nose or on a shirt and thus no blogging. But before my mom jumps on the plane from Malaysia to make sure we are alive, here you are. We are alive. Kind of.

Go Cougars

Lucy can't sit through many things. Not church, not even a cartoon. But a BYU game with her dad? She will be settled in for a good two hours tomorrow.

Portland Food Carts

The Foxes were so lovely to visit us this weekend and Lucy is grateful to Adam for pushing the food cart experience. She loved eating everyone's leftovers.

Lucy's Room

Since moving into our new house, I finally feel like Lucy's room is put together. Not perfect yet but not without direction either.
Pom poms from Martha Stewart
Lucy letters from the Lucy store (lovingly redeemed by Ashley)
My favorite long legged doll from Pottery barn (I have visions of Lucy carrying this doll around the world with her)
And, although age inappropriate, this bouncer stays because a. there is nowhere else to put it and b. Lucy likes to jump on it like a trampoline

20s

Mike and I went to a lovely 20's mystery dinner. It was so much fun. Mike was a French jeweler and I was a Russian aristocrat.

Cafe Yumm

Katie and I have a standing Tuesday lunch date. I love it! So does Lucy!

Strutting Her Stuff

I did a miserable job of documenting Lucy's walking progression. It's just that she cruised along holding on to stuff for at least three months and then took two steps for entertainments purposes for another few months, that when she actually started walking it felt a little anticlimactic. It was time. But this is my celebration - because it really is a feat and she totally rocks the swagger if you ask me.

Grandma Visits

It was so lovely of Janet to come and visit. We all had a good time chatting, eating, and playing, but I think Lucy always feels the luckiest after a few days of extra grandma attention.
